Ah, opinions. I have a lot of them. As time’s gone on, I feel I’ve done a better job of learning when to keep my big mouth shut. You could very well view each entry below as an instance of my failing to do so. Still, not every one of these posts will be a rant. Sometimes I just like to hear myself talk

Those are tasty burgers...

I’m afraid this is going to be a quick post, but it goes out to all fans and supporters of the barbecue.  To celebrate the three day weekend, we had a few folks over to the house.  The weather was perfect, the beer was tasty (Ben’s newest creation, a Helles, is now ready for consumption), and the grill was ready to go.  I decided that this would be the perfect opportunity to fire up something besides the usual plain hamburgers.  I found the solution in a phenomenal cookbook I picked up about a month ago — Taming the Flame by Elizabeth Karmel.

Simply called “Butter Better Burgers”, these artery-clogging monsters consist of two types of ground beef (sirloin and chuck) wrapped around a pat of homemade garlic herb butter.  The butter keeps the beef tasting rich and moist, and the herbs give the meet just a little bit of kick.  Next time, I’m going to experiment by adding more spices to the butter.  Also, I think I would have been better off if I’d let the butter warm up a little bit first before making the hamburger patties.  Still, these were without a doubt the best-tasting burgers that have ever come off my grill.  To those who made it, thanks for coming out!  To everyone else, I’ll see you next time!  Till Then—

PLease understand one thing Ed. I once ate 6.5 half pound burgers in 20 mins. I'm the original Sutters Burger Eating CHamp. Bring this burger to me and then we'll talk.

I'm finding it hard to believe you haven't a new post since your last cheeseburger...
maybe you were injured or worse during a Halo 3 mission

I love hamburgers, especially hamburgers made with beef. Next time you are in Albany, try downtown's 'Texas Style Veggieburger'. It's a veggieburger with bacon. That's some good eating.

ROn does a veggie burger mean that you put an actual vegetarian on a bun? Cause if it does I'm in brother

I had a good bacon cheddarburger just off 17 in Jersey a couple of weeks ago. Right near the RR tracks. The diner had a very Gaudi looking mens bathroom. I understand the ladies room was a bit different.

Ron if you're gonna have a burger in N Jersey Harold's is clearly the place to go. They are located in Holiday Inn's in Parsippany and EDison. Harold used to own the famed Carnegie Deli in NYC. He by no means messes around with portions or quality. They also have the world's largest pickle bar to boot.

I'm not sure which I like better, steak tar tar or liver paté? Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, gravy and cranberries is very nice with a snifter of jim beam on the rocks.

Ahhhh yes James Beauregard Beam. I can't tell you how well he goes with meatloaf. The thought of the combination brings me back to my youth... If there's two things that go together in this world it's Jim Beam, meatloaf, rock n roll and backyard wrestling.

coach, what you doin' for lunch?

Ed, what are you doin for lunch?

Hey Ed if you were a hamburger would you eat yourself? I know I would...
